Summary: 

The first half of Seminar 1 introduced basic knowledge of ESG intelligence data. Starting with UN SDG Goal 13 (climate action), Dr. Liane Lee introduced the relationship between ESG data and corporate performance. Ms Vivi Hu, the CEO of YoujiVest, explained ESG sentiment data was generated by labeling the key words in the language models. 

The second half of the Seminar focused on the initial features of the ESG intelligence dataset. Prof. Louis Cheng demonstrated the interpretations of the ESG data from different eye views by Python 3D visualization. Dr. Jianfu Shen introduced ESG disagreement and demonstrated the application of ESG intelligence data in the research field.

恒大ESG研究中心成功舉辦首次大數據之ESG應用研討會

綠色經濟與ESG近年來已成為香港經濟社會發展的重要議題,此熱潮推動下,香港恒生大學ESG研究中心(CESG)獲創新及科技基金計劃(ITF)支持,圍繞大數據在ESG領域的應用,計劃開展4次專題研討會。首次研討會以大數據應用於反映企業ESG表現時所遇的技術問題與商機為主題,於8月14日下午舉辦,探討大數據應用於反映企業ESG表現時,所遇到的技術問題與商機。灼見名家傳媒及卓越環球商務中心擔任支持機構。

Outline: 

Under the ITF project (GSP/033/22), the Research Centre for ESG (CESG) is pleased to organize the first seminar to introduce big data and its applications to reflect firm level ESG performance. This seminar will explain the importance of AI tools to evaluate ESG performance of  corporations. Representatives from YoujiVest will introduce their ESG sentiment data used for this project. This seminar will feature some initial output through a python-based three-dimensional visualization. 

*** Due to the limited capacity of the venue, registration will be processed on a first-come-first-serve basis, with up to 30 seats for physical participants and 100 for online participants. If the maximum capacity of a physical venue is reached, the organiser may choose a bigger venue or switch your participation from physical to online. Therefore, please indicate your preference accordingly on the registration form.
